I am delighted to share with you our RGS 2023 Prospectus. Our vision is to offer our students an exceptional all-round education and inside you will see a portfolio of some of what we offer to our students. I hope you enjoy reading it.
There is no doubt that students have faced very challenging times, but have shown remarkable resilience and determination to achieve not only in their academic studies but in their contribution to the life of the School. I am so proud of both Year 11 and Year 13 for doing so well and preparing themselves for the next stage of their education. I thank the RGS staff, both teaching and support, for the great work that they do and, so often, going the extra mile for our students!
RGS students, at A Level and at GCSE have performed exceptionally well, particularly pleasing against the concerns about grades being re-set to 'pre-pandemic' levels.
Our Leavers '23 were celebrating the fact that 77% of A Level grades were awarded at A*-B, (of which 55% are at A"-A). This has ensured that most will go on to their first choice of university (including 17 to Oxford or Cambridge) on the courses they applied for. At GCSE, this week we are equally delighted that 75% of grades for GCSE were awarded at 9-7.
These committed, hardworking cohorts of students have achieved higher overall performances than the last set of public examinations before the Pandemic.
